Senior operating capacity for technology CEOs

A fractional Chief of Staff who takes ownership of the initiatives that matter most and sees them through.

The situation

When the agenda outgrows the leadership team

Between roughly $10M and $100M in revenue, the work facing a CEO changes faster than the organisation around it. New markets, a services business that needs to scale, a revenue model under strain, a board expecting more rigour. Each of these needs senior attention, and most leadership teams are already fully committed to running the business.

The result is familiar: important initiatives move more slowly than they should, or land on the CEO's desk by default. A permanent hire is often premature, and a consulting report rarely changes how the work gets done.

What I take on

Work that needs a senior operator, not another hire

  1. Special projectsThe initiative that matters but keeps slipping, owned from scoping through to delivery.

  2. Outcome: [Outcome placeholder]

Track record

Two decades of scaling technology businesses

  • Revenue strategy

Grew contracted ARR from under $4M to $10.6M in a single year as General Manager at Ideon Technologies, while moving the company to subscription pricing and securing its first recurring revenue contracts.

  • Professional services scale-up

Built Copperleaf's professional services and support organisation from 4 people to more than 60, sustaining over 50% annual growth with 100% customer referenceability.

  • Scaling globally

As President, Americas at Copperleaf, nearly doubled regional bookings in one year to $63M, then led the company's operations through its transition to a public company on the TSX.

How it works

A straightforward way to start

  1. A conversation.

We discuss what is on your plate and where additional senior capacity would make the most difference.

  2. A defined first piece of work.

We agree a clear scope with a visible result early in the engagement.

  3. Embedded support.

I work alongside you and your leadership team for as long as it is useful.

Who I work with

CEOs of technology companies at a point of transition

I typically work with founders and CEOs of technology companies with revenue between $10M and $100M, often at an inflection point: entering a new market, maturing a services or customer function, preparing for investment, or simply carrying more than one leadership team can reasonably absorb.

About

I'm Miranda, and I have spent twenty years deploying technology with industrial customers to create value, most recently in senior commercial and general management roles at high-growth software companies. I take the same approach into each engagement: understand the business properly, agree what good looks like, and do the work.
